Dr. Erlend Gehlken
Erlend is a physicist and Assyriologist. Erlend studied at the University of Heidelberg
where he received a diploma in theoretical physics and a PhD. in Assyriology. In 2003, Erlend achieved Habilitation at the
University of Marburg, and has since lectured in Assyriology at the Universities of Heidelberg, Frankfurt, Marburg, and Birmingham (UK).
Erlend is currently associated with the University of Frankfurt/Main, and is editor of a Babylonian temple archive from the ancient
city of Uruk.

Peter is interested in the practical application of Artificial Intelligence and Pattern Recognition techniques. He has supervised
PhDs in areas of Expert System for ensuring Quality Compliance in the construction industry, Data Mining applied to criminal
records, detection and classification of abnormal cells in medical images, use of Genetic Algorithms in robotics. He also has
a keen interest in applying AI techniques to racehorse handicapping.

Sandra is an electronic engineer. She lectures multimedia and computer networking at Birmingham University. Sandra has research
experience in data engineering, image coding and pervasive computing, and she previously contributed to aspects of digital imaging
and 3D capture in the Birmingham University cuneiform project.
